Polly Gibson, Wine Educator with glass of wine

About Polly

A wine lover on a mission to never be a wine bore! Polly is a WSET Diploma holder with over a decade of experience in the industry and is the founder of 'Wine With Polly', an events and education company based in West Berkshire. She has put hundreds of students successfully through WSET training (with a 100% pass rate to date!)

'Informed but informal' is her motto and approach to learning about wine, though there are few things she takes more seriously. With a background in horticulture, Polly is a strong advocate for organic and regenerative farming and works closely with Winding Wood Vineyard, a multi award-winning vineyard near Hungerford. She is delighted to be collaborating with Wild Wine School, bringing new and exciting opportunities for sharing the wine love!

What Polly's students say:

"Many thanks for your masterly instruction over the last three days. Very great fun
and an excellent way to provide some true foundations to the rickety knowledge that
I have built up over the years. The atmosphere of the course was excellent and that
is all down to your leadership."
Simon Chelton

"Thank you so much for another excellent course!  My head is still spinning (from all
the information, not the wine, honest!). I really enjoyed learning so much and your
style of delivery is awesome."

Winding Wood Vineyard in Berkshire
Introducing Winding Wood
A boutique vineyard in organic conversion situated in the beautiful west corner of Berkshire between Hungerford and Newbury. The vines are planted on free draining loam over flint and chalk. Their wine is made from the classic champagne varieties using the Traditional Method. They are now entering their third year of conversion towards becoming a certified organic vineyard, hand-in-hand with embracing a biodynamic approach towards both the land and vines. This means using regenerative methods at all times: no tilling under the vine, striving to improve soil content at all times, employing no synthetic chemicals; and using plants that contain medicinal properties to make teas for spraying over the vines. The goal: to build up the vine’s resistance to disease and to make the best wines possible.
