May 2016 / By the Boat House / Harlyn / Spring Season

Originally a Pilchard fishing site, Cornishman Mark Hellyar's ancestors owned this beautiful site on Harlyn Bay near Padstow. Consisting of the main house, and a boat house, down by the beach. We're delighted to announce our Spring Season will include a wild wine adventure at this stunningly Cornish location.

We're also excited to share that Emily Scott of St.Tudy Inn will be the guest chef, alongside our in-house chef Adam Banks.

She will put together a five-course feast, inspired by the maritime heritage of the place, using her signature style that focusses on seasonality and locally sourced produce.  You'll enjoy five glasses of beautiful wines from Chateau Civrac to compliment each course.

Join us for canapés, aperitifs and a paddle from 19.30 with sit down for starters at 20.00.

Emily Scott

Emily Scott from the St Tudy Inn, who won *One to Watch* in the top 50 Gastro pub awards this year with her team, was a Best Chef South West finalist at the Food Magazine awards and was recently awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand.

Emily trained in France and it is her knowledge of the classic techniques that form the backbone to her skills. In 2000 she moved to Cornwall where she then successfully ran The Harbour Restaurant in Port Isaac for over 8 years. In 2013 she was named Best Chef South West by Food Magazine and was nominated as a Local Food Hero.

While running the restaurant she developed The Harbour Kitchen, providing award-winning bespoke catering for suppers, canapé parties, shoot dinners, celebrations, weddings and everything in between.

Emily embarked on her latest project, The St Tudy Inn, in 2014, where she heads up the kitchen, creating an ever-evolving menu that combines her passion for beautiful, seasonal food with the best Cornish produce available.

What to bring
We will be outside for the whole evening, so be sure to bring something to wrap up warm in.
Pre-dinner swimming is also encouraged (though this is of course at your own risk), so bring your bathers if you fancy a dip.

Directions
You will receive clear directions to the location the week before the event.

Weather
We haven't quite figured out how to order the perfect conditions... but we have luck on our side. We will continue with the evening under most circumstances and will have contingency plans if it's looking too wild, even for us.
